Offline Scanner — privacy policy

This policy covers the Android and iOS application Offline Scanner. It is the policy the Google Play and the App Store listing points at. The short version is that the app is built so there is nothing to collect.

What Offline Scanner does on your device

• Captures, processes, stores and exports your documents entirely on the device.
• Ships with no INTERNET permission in its Android manifest — the permission is actively stripped from the merged manifest, so the app is incapable of network access rather than merely declining to use it.
• Requires no account and no sign-in, and holds no user database.
• Contains no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting and no advertising.
• Keeps scans in the app's own private storage until you export or delete them.
• Shares a document only when you yourself invoke the system share sheet.

Permissions

• Camera — To photograph the document. It is the only sensitive permission the app requests, and audio capture is explicitly disabled.

What we collect

Nothing. We operate no server that Offline Scanner talks to, hold no user database, keep no copies of your files and record no usage data tied to you. We have no way to identify you and no way to reach you unless you contact us first.

Purchase and installation

Offline Scanner is distributed through Google Play and the App Store. The store handles the transaction, the download and the updates under its own privacy policy and terms of sale; we receive no personal information about you from a purchase, only anonymous aggregate sales figures. What you do inside the app afterwards is not reported to the store or to us.

Children

Offline Scanner is a general-purpose utility, is not directed at children, and — because it collects nothing from anyone — it collects nothing from children either.

Your rights

Rights of access, correction, deletion and portability apply to personal data a company holds about you. We hold none, so there is nothing to access, correct, delete or export. Your documents are already entirely in your own hands: deleting them from your device deletes them completely.

Changes

If a future version of Offline Scanner changes any of the above, this page will be updated before that version ships, and the change will never extend to reading or transmitting the content of your files.
